Holiday recounts

One of our first tasks was to write a story about the one of the most exciting things we did in the holidays.  Everyone had something interesting to say, and was very focused in writing it down so that they could share it with the rest of the class.

When we had finished and edited our stories, we drew pictures to match the story using wax crayons and dye.  Here are a few, but you can read them all if you click on the WRITING tab at the top of the blog.  You can also read paper copies of all the holiday recounts in the blue folder in the class library.  Mrs Todd took the folder home for Mr Todd to read one night, and she said that it gave him lots of ideas of things he could do with their family next school holidays.

We enjoyed reading our illustrated stories before they were displayed on the wall too.  There was enough time to read your own, and two or three other people's stories too.  We practised giving each other helpful, positive feed back.

Thank you for letting us discuss your recount, (Super) Cooper, and put it on the Writing Wall to help us all improve our writing.

Allison's dad and I were so impressed with all of the stories put together by room 2. Excellent descriptive tales of fun holiday activities. Keep up the great work.

What a surprise to see 'Super Cooper's' example for writing.
