Hooray for Fish!

We read the book, Horray for Fish! by Lucy Cousins (the author/illustrator that write the Maisy the Mouse series) and looked at all the pictures.  Then we drew lots of cartoon fish like Lucy's, and chose the best one to copy in clay.

First we rolled the clay out.  We used a roller and bars that stopped the clay from being rolled out too thin.

We copied our fish shape onto the clay using a toothpick.

Then we cut the fish shape out using a knife.

When we were happy with the shape, to added fins using a pop stick.

We used the side of the pop stick to add detail to the tail and fins.
