First we had a Clay Play Day when we practised different techniques with clay. We learned how to slam the clay to get rid of air bubbles that can make it explode in the kiln; how to use our fingertips on wet sponge to keep the clay moist and how to use different tools to add texture or shape. We could make whatever we wanted because the idea was just to get used to working with clay, not to make a finished product.

Clay Play Day
In the first week of the term, we needed to start doing our clay ready for Art Expo because clay takes three weeks to dry before it is ready to be fired in the kiln.
