Mrs Megan Petterson, from Landcare Research - Manaaki Whenua, visited Room 2 to talk to us about her work and answer our questions. Mrs Petterson is a leading scientist in the Systematics Team, with a special interest in bacteria, who is responsible for the International Collection of Micro-organisms from Plants. She told us about her scientific work and answered all our questions about what it means to be a scientist: what she does at work, what she wears and how she became interested in science.
Mrs Petterson was interested to see that the girls had drawn female scientists, and the boys male scientists in their 'before' view pictures of what a scientist might look like.
